The Long brush was made for long beards. With a full sized pearwood handle at over 4.3 inches and 74 plugs of pure second cut (soft) boar bristles this brush is ideal to manage long beards that need a bit of handle.
When we worked with the brush makers to craft the ZilberHaar Long brush we wanted to keep with the quality of a ZilberHaar brush. It needed to feel good in the hand while also being durable. The Long brush was specifically developed for people with long beards who need a longer handle and a good "head" of bristles.
As your beard grows the skin below your beard produces oils to help the hairs grow. But the skin also replaces itself and needs some help to get rid of any unwanted items. Brushing your beard daily isn't just about making it look nice, it is essential to exfoliate your skin beneath the beard.
Pearwood arrives from sustainable forests and is allowed to dry. To make a good beard brush this can take up to eight weeks. The key is to achieve the right humidity level inside the wood.
Boar bristles are checked by hand to ensure ensure quality. They need to have the right length and the right stiffness. Soft bristles are separated as needed. The bundles are then trimmed to size.
The pearwood handles that have been carved, hand sanded and verified are then oiled and laser etched. Once ready they are sent through the tufting machine. Final controls are then done by hand.
